How it all Works 1: Writing the Script with GPT-3

A strong script is the most crucial foundation for any video ad. It can also be the most creatively challenging. In thirty seconds or less, it has to capture an audience’s attention, speak to their interests, offer unique solutions, and inspire action.

Historically, copywriting has involved a surprising amount of work. It has called for thorough brand research, comprehensive audience understanding, marketing savvy and creative chops. This skill set alone can be difficult to find for small businesses - to say nothing of the expense and time involved in running through edits and rewrites.

We wanted to remove these barriers of skill, expense and speed without compromising quality. To accomplish this, we turned to GPT-3.

What Is GPT-3?

GPT-3 stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3. It is a Large Language Model (LLM) created by OpenAI, and is arguably one of the most famous language models to date.

How Does GPT-3 Work?

LLMs like GPT-3 work by predicting the next word that is likely to appear in a sequence, based on what they’ve learned from previously written texts.

One of the most remarkable things about GPT-3 is the sheer size of the data it has been trained on. GPT-3 is trained on a vast body of text, including data pulled from years of web crawling and the entirety of the English-language Wikipedia.

GPT-3 was designed to learn statistical patterns through this massive volume of information and apply those learnings to generate new text similar to the training data. This has made it one of the most flexible and powerful language models publicly available to date.

Using AI to Write Scripts in Seconds

Our team harnessed and fine-tuned a GPT-3 model to create a tailored script-writing experience. Our model combines its natural language processing with the information it learns about a small business to generate truly tailored copy that goes beyond the generic. Users can even direct it to focus on a special event, a sale, or any other aspect they choose..

Once they provide this initial direction, our platform is able to take the information that is pulled from the web and return an original, custom script written to their specifications in seconds. Users can fine-tune scripts by themselves by editing words and phrases; or they can regenerate new scripts for novel ideas and approaches as many times as they like.
